A Triathlete's Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner and for some of us present buying can be pretty simple, especially if you get given a list. However you might need a helping hand on what to buy your loved ones or what you would like Father Christmas to put under the tree. Below are my top triathlon buys for Christmas especially for the newbie triathletes. Now you may notice that I haven’t put a bike on the list and although a bike is an essential for a triathlon I would guess that you would have had to have been very, very good this year to receive a bike shaped present, just keeping it real!
1. TrisuitHUUB  Core Black & Red £99 (same design/colours for men too)
Now it might be worth noting that the Brownlee brothers are HUUB sponsored athletes, that might spur you on to the finish.
2. NutritionHigh 5 Selection Pack £14.99
The High5 pack contains a selection of gels, electrolytes, sports drinks etc. as well as a nutrition guide to help any triathlete.
3. GooglesAqua Sphere Kayenne £25
Aqua Sphere have a great range of goggles for both the pool and open water, these can be used for both and also found them £10 cheaper on Sweatband
4. Event entryCastle Series dependent on which race you buy.
The Castle Triathlon Series are set as you can imagine in Castles around the UK and one in France. They have multitude of races to choose from which include various triathlon distances as well as running and swimming only events.
5. Elastic lacesZone 3 £7
My tip for using elastic laces is to put them on whilst your feet are in your trainers, then you’ll ensure that they won’t be too snug.
6. Running ShoesAsics Gel Cumulus £115
Now I would always recommend getting a gait analysis done before buying a pair of running shoes to ensure they compliment the way in which you run, as buying the wrong pair can lead to injury.
7. Helmet – Kask Mojito Road Helmet from Sigma Sport £110
The Kask Helmet comes in lots of different colour ways, I bought one for Luke for his birthday this year and he loves it.
8. Cycling Shoes – Specialized Women’s Ember Road Shoes from Evans Cycles £91
9. Race beltZone 3 £7
Race belts are used to attach your race number which goes at the back when you cycle and then you move it to the front on your run. The belt allows you to attach 3 energy gels.
10. Wetsuit – Orca TRN Wiggle Exclusive £99
The men’s version comes in black and green for the same price and can be found here.
